Question by Monkey’s uncle: What if I feel my 15 year old daughter is making a “dating” mistake?
My daughter is 15 years old. She is a straight A student and never been kissed. She is very attractive, lots of friends, doesn’t even have to try that hard in school. She just started dating someone she knows from school. He is 16 and dropped out of high school. He is working two jobs and says he’ll get his GED. He has dated alot of girls prior to my daughter. He has liked her since they were as young as 10 years. He is very nice to her and polite enough to me. I feel like my daughter is making a mistake. I have let her see him (pretty much supervised). I was afraid if I told her she couldn’t see him, she might do it behind my back. Any advice?

You cant protect her forever you have to let her go through life and learn from her own mistakes…..

I’ve said “I’m not dating” for years, How can I let the guy I like know I’d date him? This one other guy likes me and I DON’T want to date him. If he asks it’s easy and painless to say “I not dating right now”. I do want to date but there is only one guy right now that I could stand dating! How can I let the guy I like know I’m available?

I’ve always wandered this.

Almost all the relationships I know of didn’t start with a “date” of sorts.

Usually just hanging out with friends,
then becoming attracted and hanging out more
then making a relationship out of it, and doing the same as before, plus making out and sex and other stuff that differentiates a friendship from an intimate relationship.

The official “dates” were rare.

Two of my best friends have recently become very very close, but they are not boyfriend and girlfriend. The guy was writing an apology email to the girl because something had come up and he wanted to let her know that he couldn’t call her when he had planned. He started to say, “I’m so sorry, I must be a really terrible boyfriend” when he realized that he isn’t her boyfriend. What should he say instead of boyfriend? Thanks!
