Question by 12-25 Never Forget: Would my fiancee care if her engagement ring might of come from a “conflict” area?
I work with a guy from the Congo, and he got me a really good deal on a 1+ karat diamond. I never mentioned that part to her, but now some of her friends want me buy some for them and I’m not sure I’m comfortable with that. Should I mention it or just keep my mouth shut?

I personally wouldn’t like it, and it’s not ethical to contribute towards that trade. If you’re intent to do this, then if I were you, I personally wouldn’t tell your partner. However, if I was her, I would want you to be honest with me.

I’m not a big human rights activist or anything, but I would make a point of not wearing it if it was from there.
