Question by CooperationNeeded: Is this true, “religion has absolutely NO place in secular affairs”?
Is mainstream rich clergy with influence illegally mixing church and state together by influencing laws that show no respect for yours and my rights and freedoms? If so do you see the big problem with that? If not please see info below! First in Jesus day and now our day.
Note Jesus day and religious leaders and power and money and ask self is that true today too?
“And He said to those who sold doves, “Take these things away! Do not make My Father’s house a house of merchandise!” Then His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for Your house has eaten Me up.” John 2:13-17 (NKJV) “Even many of the high priests during the first century seemed to have given up their love of God for the love of money. Most notably the High priest whom Jesus was brought before, Annas, along with his five sons who succeeded him to that position. The Temple sacrifice during their reigns can best be summed up by the words “The Marketplace of the family of Annas”” Sources: Smiths Bible Dictionary. What famous TV clergy name(s) could we put in Annas’ place if we want to be honest with the facts? Note: Jesus said, “Do not make My Father’s house a house of merchandise!”" Who is Jesus Father, Jehovah which name he (Jesus) said to HALLOW at Matthew 6:9? Can we be zealous for that same God too and respectfully hallow his name before others as Jesus said to do? If we believe Jesus is the Son of that one and only God and need to obey Jesus as the sent one from that one God? Reason on that for true life in the future please! He did just say Father’s name. Knowing that it is Your free will choice only you can make to worship him only! Or follow and worship the Annas kind above who loves money? I have a church and state case and saw the Annas kind of churches of other faiths influence the state judgment of me. Which history shows has happen needlessly many times before to my brothers in the faith. But for privacy rights cannot go into details of my case. Is the JW history point clear? If not see below info and link. I will make a hard copy of this info for faxing and mailing others.
U.S. Attorney General, [1943] “We shall not defeat the Nazi evil by emulating its methods.” [Annas clergy like hethods] “Partly because of this violent reaction to its decision, the Supreme Court reversed itself only three years later. The 1943 West Virginia v. Barnette decision reversed the decision of Minersville School District v. Gobitis. Argued by Witness attorney Hayden C. Covington, the case revisited the issue of mandatory flag salute. Justice Jackson penned the majority opinion stating, in part, that, “Compulsory unification of opinion achieves only the unanimity of the graveyard.”” “religion has absolutely NO place in secular affairs”
Or [2009] mandatory state treatment by secular Annas religious method of influence against divine law of Jehovah’s golden rule in my civil case! Church and State should not mix but they do and in areas of others personal religious choices. Or that is majority opinion making mandatory rules for those religions not mainstream. “They [JW's] had been regulars at the U.S. Supreme Court since the 1930s, arguing that the First Amendment was an empty promise to citizens outside the mainstream.” And yet it was those outside the mainstream religions that did the world the greatest good and did not mix in government business to force others by law to do it our way. NO! We fight for our rights peacefully in Supreme Courts but by that way it is “Opening the door for us all” like Joel P. Engardio said. See link:

[Luke 19:46] Jesus used stronger language here about misuse of religion to get personal income for self, [4 versions] International Standard Version (©2008) He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house is to be called a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a hideout for bandits!” New American Standard Bible (©1995) saying to them, “It is written, ‘AND MY HOUSE SHALL BE A HOUSE OF PRAYER,’ but you have made it a ROBBERS’ DEN.” GOD’S WORD® Translation (©1995) He said to them, “Scripture says, ‘My house will be a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a gathering place for thieves.” King James Bible Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.” meaning his and our day also!
CC your more in agreement with the Bible than those rich clergy are, Not quite correct. You are missing the insertion of the critical word “should”. It should read: Religion should have absolutely NO place in secular affairs.
Because we all know the truth of many religious people who try to insert their religious beliefs into secular affairs. Sometimes they are successful (e.g. Prop 8 in CA), and sometimes they are unsuccessful (Kitzmiller v. Dover). We need to be vigilant and continue the fight to keep religion out of secular affairs.
Source(s): An atheist perspective.
Jesus did not get into secular affairs and force his religion on anyone. What you see in religion mixing in government business today was never the Christ way of teaching people but he talked with them on a face to face way publicly and door to door! No any religion more like that today in our day? Clue JW’s! And we are hated by the rich clergy like Jesus was the religious leaders of his day. Like Annas & business!
“religion has absolutely NO place in secular affairs” came from one answer one link below not myself but because it was a good reply I used it in my question:

Sound like Annas’s son here, “Perhaps Robertson’s financial stake in Liberia’s current government is stronger than his religious interest after all? At any rate, Pat Robertson has staked a clear position where he favors a Christian business partner and politician accused of horrific crimes, even when that means rejecting the possibility of achieving a stable peace in a nation that has been ravaged by war an suffering. And yet Pat Robertson pretends to be the sort of person qualified to lecture others on morality and ethics.”
http://atheism.about.com/library/FAQs/rr/blrr_rob_taylor.htm So why is Pat Robertson such a big fan of Liberia’s President Charles Taylor? What you won’t hear much about on Robertson’s shows is the fact that he has a huge financial interest in Liberia. Under Taylor’s regime in 1999, Robertson negotiated an $ 8 million investment in a gold mining venture. A new government may or may not honor Robertson’s claims – if they don’t, he’ll be out an awful lot of cash.”$ !?
